August 19, 2016
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal announced the continuation, with amendment, of its August 2011 orders concerning the dumping of flat hot-rolled carbon and alloy steel sheet and strip from Brazil, China, Chinese Taipei, India and Ukraine and the subsidizing of those goods originating in or exported from India.
The Tribunal found that the dumping of flat hot-rolled carbon and alloy steel sheet and strip from Brazil, China and Ukraine and the subsidizing of those goods originating or exported from India were likely to result in injury to Canadian industry.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will therefore continue to impose anti dumping and countervailing duties on these products.
As the CBSA had determined in April 2016 that the expiry of the orders is unlikely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the subject goods from Chinese Taipei and India, the Tribunal rescinded its orders with respect to those goods.
