The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) made final determinations of dumping and subsidy in respect of certain welded large diameter carbon and alloy steel line pipe originating in or exported from China and Japan, and subsidizing of the same product from China.
The decision, on September 20, 2016, confirms that the goods are shipped to Canada at lower than normal prices (dumped) and are subsidized when exported.
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal is continuing its inquiry into the question of injury to the domestic industry and will make an order or finding by October 20, 2016.
Provisional duties will continue to apply on imports of subject goods from China until the date of the Tribunal's order or finding.
For additional information regarding the application of provisional duties on subject goods imported into Canada see the Final determinations of dumping and subsidy.
