December 9, 2016
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced on December 5 that it made a final determination of dumping with respect to gypsum from the United States imported for use in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, as well as the Yukon and Northwest Territories.
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal is continuing its inquiry into the question of injury to the Western Canadian industry and will issue an order or a finding by January 4, 2017.
Provisional duties will continue to apply on imports of subject goods until the date of the Tribunal's order or finding.
The Tribunal must also report, by the same date, on whether the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duties on these goods is contrary to Canada's economic, trade or commercial interests, and whether it would cause significant harm to consumers of those goods or to businesses who use them.
