Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement takes effect on August 1st

July 12, 2017

The Government of Canada announced that the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement (CUFTA) will be implemented on August 1, 2017.

The Agreement will eliminate the customs duties on most imports originating from Ukraine, with the exception of a few agricultural goods, either immediately upon implementation of the agreement, or through a tariff phase-out.

The Canada Borders Services Agency has issued a customs notice outlining the CUFTA's tariff provisions, proof of origin and shipping requirements.
